Cholera situation update

As of 5 July 2015, a total of 705 cholera cases including 32 deaths have been reported in Bor and Juba counties. In Juba County, out of 654 cases, 31 people have died, representing a Case Fatality Rate of 4.7 per cent. Of the 31 deaths, six (19.4 per cent) were children under age 5. Health partners have established cholera treatment centres and oral rehydration points, and are conducting cholera prevention activities, including hygiene promotion and improvement of access to safe drinking water
