UGANDA
Malnutrition among new arrivals from South Sudan remains high – particularly severe acute malnutrition. In Bidibidi settlement in Yumbe, preliminary results from screening found 9.5% global acute malnutrition and 2.9% severe acute malnutrition. 10% GAM and 5.2% SAM was reported among newly arrived refugees in July.
SYRIA
After four years under siege, an estimated 4,000 people have been evacuated from Darayya town, near Damascus. Other sites under siege are still not receiving assistance. In Al Hasakeh, some people are reported to be returning after a truce – 60,000–70,000 had been displaced by fighting over one week.
