IOM DTM team conducted biometric registration in Nimni, Guit County, from 23 to 30 May 2016. This exercise was agreed upon in the ICWGs both in Bentiu and Juba, and aims at supporting and informing partners’ responses in locations targeted by the Beyond Bentiu strategy.
It was observed that the vast majority of the people currently living in Nimni and its surroundings are already registered at the Bentiu PoC. They were all offered the possibility to change their registration point to Nimni, but most of them preferred to keep their PoC card as they expressed a lack of confidence in humanitarians’ capacity to provide sufficient and consistent assistance in Nimni. A caseload of 406 people were registered for the first time.
Nimni is located approximately 40kms by road from Bentiu town.
