Highlights

• Deepening food and nutrition security, driven by high food prices and a worsening economic situation, has been widely witnessed, with Northern & Western Bahr el Ghazal and Eastern Equatoria being the main geographic areas exhibiting the most rapid decline.
  WFP is scaling up its food assistance activities to reach those in need.

• The Transitional Government of National Unity has been established in line with the Compromise Peace Agreement following the return and swearing in of the first Vice President, Riek Machar.
