In 2016, WFP Sudan intends to reach 3.8 million people affected by food insecurity and malnutrition with general food distributions, nutrition interventions, food assistance for assets and training, and school feeding.
Humanitarian needs are rapidly increasing due to clashes in Jebel Marra and the El Niño crisis.
While emergency supplies have been delivered to many affected people, more support is needed.Sudan continues to witness a steady influx of South Sudanese refugees – including 40,000 arriving in Darfur over the past month fleeing hunger as opposed to insecurity.
