Highlights

• In 2016, WFP Sudan intends to reach 3.8 million people affected by food insecurity and malnutrition with general food distributions, nutrition interventions, food assistance for assets and training, and school feeding.

• Humanitarian needs are rapidly increasing due to clashes in Jebel Marra and the El Niño crisis.
  While emergency supplies have been delivered to many affected people, more support is needed.

• Sudan continues to witness a steady influx of South Sudanese refugees – including 40,000 arriving in Darfur over the past month fleeing hunger as opposed to insecurity.
