Overview

As of 14 February 2016, the population count recorded a total number of 120,278 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Bentiu UN Mission in South Sudan’s Protection of Civilians (PoC) site. The population count was conducted between 12-14 February 2016. In comparison to the last population count conducted in late January, there is a slight increase from 119,476 individuals to 120,278 individuals.

The population is estimated to have fluctuated by 1,000 individuals, as indicated by the last three population counts conducted over the last six weeks despite over 5,000 individuals recorded by the movement trend tracking (MTT) mechanism as new arrivals during the same time period.
