Truckloads of commodities have started arriving in Yambio market, in Western Equatoria.
Traders have not been able to get food, fuel and other supplies into Yambio since late last year, on account of the insecurity.
Town mayor, Daniel Badagu says government authorities arranged for the movement of the trucks from Yei to Yambio via Maridi.
Badagu says the items, including food, fuel and basic commodities are in the markets, but prices are still high.
“Prices of goods remain high because of the high rate of the dollar on the black market,” he said.
Badagu says authorities are contemplating how to intervene.
Trade routes in and out of Yambio have been in accessible because of clashes between SPLA soldiers and armed youth.
