A second round polio vaccination campaign is underway in Unity state for all children under the age of five.
The campaign targets children at the United Nations protection of civilian site in Bentiu, within Bentiu town and in Rubkona.
The vaccination exercise is being conducted by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Trsedeye Girma, the UNICEF emergency specialist, says the campaign will last three days and was launched after once case was detected.
“As you know there has been a case of polio reported in Unity state so it is critical to really make sure that all children are properly immunized to really make sure they are safe”.
Parents and guardians to cooperate with the vaccinators as they conduct the door-to-door exercise. The campaign ends on Friday.
