Market Highlights
In Juba’s markets, prices of most staples increased somewhat between August week 3 and 4.
During August week 4, prices of locally produced crops were slightly lower than their levels of three months before, mainly due to the arrival on markets of new harvests.
Persistent and substantial depreciation of the local currency, coupled with dollar and fuel shortages, continues to impact on food imports and transportation costs, with knock off effects on prices that more than tripled in one year.
